Swoop
Swooping birds, snakes and path hazards near you, on a Brisbane map. Reported by the people who walk, run and ride past them.
Brisbane only, for now-
Look
Open the app and see what was reported near you: swooping territories that fade as the season moves on, snakes and lizards on the path, midges at dusk, nests, dogs, fallen trees, closed and flooded paths, glass, mud and roadworks.
-
Report in a tap
Tap Report a Swoop, then what you saw, and it is on the map. On a walk, run or ride, Swooped on the Lock Screen reports a swoop where you are in one tap. Add the species if you like, or slide back along your run to where it happened. Reports are never shown with anything that identifies you.
-
Go around
Type a destination and see the fastest way beside one that steers around the swooping territories, fresh snake sightings and closed paths you choose to avoid, where the paths allow. After dark, each route says how much of it the map data marks as lit. Or just wander: the app stays quiet unless something reported is in your way, then tells you once.
-
Walk, run, ride
Track a walk, run or ride and save it to Apple Health. "Still swooping?" after you pass a territory, and a summary of the reported hazards you passed at the end, let you say whether each is still there, which keeps the map honest.

Calm Map
For a walk with the kids or the dog: every creature becomes a grey dot, no photos, no animation, the same information.
A quiet map means nobody has reported anything there. It never means nothing is there: Swoop shows reports, not guarantees. How your reports are kept.
